BuilDeFi Privacy Notice

This "Privacy Notice" describes the privacy practices of BuilDeFi and BuilDeFi Affiliates (collectively, "BuilDeFi", "our", "us" or "we"), in connection with the Sites and the BuilDeFi Platform (collectively, "Services"). This Privacy Notice also explains the rights and choices available to individuals with respect to their information.

Please read this Privacy Notice carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the BuilDeFi Platform. By accessing or using the BuilDeFi Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Privacy Notice.

We may update this Privacy Notice based upon evolving laws, regulations, and industry standards, or as we make changes to the BuilDeFi Platform. If we make changes that materially alter your privacy rights, we will take appropriate measures to inform you, consistent with the significance of the changes. If you disagree with the changes to this Privacy Notice, you should discontinue your access and use of the BuilDeFi Platform.

Our Site and the BuilDeFi Platform are not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from, anyone under the age of 18. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information, they should contact us. We will delete such information from our files as soon as reasonably practicable.

Personal Data Controller

"Personal Data" means information that can be associated with a specific person and can identify that person. It does not include data that has been aggregated or anonymized. Any reference to "Personal Data" in this Privacy Notice includes "Personal Data" as defined by the Data Protection Act 2018 of UK (link).

A Personal Data controller is the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data. BuilDeFi is the controller for the purposes of this Privacy Notice.

Types of Personal Data Collected

We may collect the following types of Personal Data:

  • Financial data such as wallet addresses;
  • Transaction data including activity on the BuilDeFi Platform and related inquiries;
  • Technical and usage data such as IP addresses, browser information, operating systems, and interaction behavior;
  • Identification or compliance-related data as necessary under anti-money laundering or KYC regulations;
  • Data from third parties or public sources.

Certain data is mandatory to access or use the BuilDeFi Platform, for example your wallet address. If not provided, access may be restricted or in the case of not connecting your wallet, the platform will not be accessible.

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect information about your device and usage when you interact with the BuilDeFi Platform. This includes your IP address, browser, device type, time zone, pages visited, and interaction behavior, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small data files used to collect information. We use:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies for platform functionality;
  • Functional Cookies to remember preferences;
  • Performance/Analytical Cookies to understand usage patterns;
  • Targeting Cookies to deliver relevant content.

Google Analytics

Method and Basis of Processing

We use secure IT systems and processes to manage your Personal Data. Processing may rely on:

  • Contractual necessity;
  • Legal obligations;
  • Legitimate interests of BuilDeFi or third parties.

We retain Personal Data as needed to fulfill purposes or meet legal requirements. Data may be retained longer with consent or legal necessity. Upon expiration, data will be deleted or anonymized.

Privacy Technology Practices

We may link to third-party sites or services. BuilDeFi is not responsible for their data practices. Review their policies separately.

Data Security

We employ security measures but cannot guarantee complete data security during transmission. You use the BuilDeFi Platform at your own risk.

Blockchain Transactions

All onchain activities are permanently recorded on public blockchains. These are outside of our control and not subject to modification or deletion which is inherent to blockchain technology.

International Transfers and Your Rights

Data may be processed internationally, including in jurisdictions outside your home country. EEA/UK residents have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
